Maestrini slotted scoop strainer plate made from bronze, with a wedge shaped grating. This strainer grate is designed for raw water intake systems, such as those used for high speed vessels. The grate is designed to secure to the outside of the boat over a through hull skin fitting to prevent debris entering the intake system.
The strainer grating can be secured to the hull using four screws although it is recommended to use a marine sealant as well.
All fittings used for through hull applications must be correctly electrically bonded to ensure protection from electrolytic corrosion. Bronze is highly suitable for below waterline through hull applications.
