Maestrini & Seaflow water intake scoops are available in brass, bronze, dezincification resistant brass (DZR) and stainless steel 316 and are designed for raw water intake systems. The through hull section is threaded and is suitable for the attachment of a ball valve to open and close the intake. The different styles of strainer are more suitable for use in different situations:
Oval Scoops - are suitable for most engine intakes.
Wedge Scoops - are suitable for higher speed vessel intakes.
Full Slot Scoops - are suitable for static intakes such as toilets and gensets.
Please Note: All fittings used for through hull applications must be correctly electrically bonded to ensure protection from electrolytic corrosion.
