Fuel Polishing
The daily build up of condensation in a fuel tank can lead to fuel contamination through bacterial growth. Fuel contamination such as the “diesel bug” is a common problem when it comes to storing diesel, and is one of the most frequent reasons for breakdowns.
Diesel bug loves wet static fuel. Circulating fuel through a particle and water- removing filter will help reduce the contaminants, prolonging fuel life and reducing the build-up of bacterial growth which leads to diesel bug.
The simplest of fuel polishing systems involves taking the fuel from the tank, pumping it through a filter and then returning it to the opposite side of the tank. There are a number of pump types available to suit different flow rates. Our most popular type is the simple compact style such as 306560 (12 volt) and 306562 (24 volt).
We always recommend the use of a Parker Racor Turbine fuel filter, as they have a large capacity and will remove contamination and water whilst being simple to service.

M68 Diesel Bug Test Kit
A simple, DIY and cost effective kit to check for signs of diesel bug. Simply immerse the dip slide into your fuel for 10 seconds, ensuring adequate coverage on both sides. Then replace the dip slide into the plastic tube and leave in a warm environment for 48 hours and interpret the results according to the chart on the back of the box.
M68 Fuel Biocide
Designed to cure the harmful effects of diesel bug on board any vessel. With regular application it can also be used to prevent diesel bug. Each 250ml bottle of fuel biocide will treat up to 1,500 litres of fuel as a preventative treatment, and 750 litres as a curative treatment.
