If the point where the cooling water is injected into the exhaust is less than 15cm above the waterline, then when the engine is stopped, there is a risk that cooling water will siphon into the exhaust system, and subsequently into the engine itself. Such siphoning may be prevented by fitting the V-ASDV at least 40cm above the waterline.
The Vetus V-ASDV anti-siphon device can prevent the above from happening. It has a reliable anti-siphon pressure valve and is self contained. It requires periodic maintenance with salt crystals to prevent clogging. Can be easily dismantled by hand for cleaning.
For hose ID sizes: 1/2" (13mm), 3/4" (19mm), 1" (25mm), 1-1/4" (32mm).
