The Racor 500FG diesel turbine fuel filter is designed to protect your precious engine components from various contaminants such as dirt, rust, algae, asphaltenes, varnishes and water.
The Parker Racor 500FG marine turbine is designed to be fitted on the vacuum side of the fuel transfer pump for maximum efficiency. The Racor turbines work through a three stage process; Separation Coalescing & Filtration explained below.
- Stage One: Separation: As fuel enters into the filter assembly; it moves through the turbine centrifuge and spins off large solids and water droplets which fall to the bottom of the collection bowl.
- Stage Two: Coalescing: Small water droplets bead-up along the sides of the chamber and on the element, once heavy enough these too fall into the bottom of the collection bowl.
- Stage Three: Filtration: Algae, rust and dirt are then filtered from the fuel by the Aquabloc element, as the elements are waterproof they are much more effective and long lasting than water absorbing elements.
The Racor 500FG diesel filter comes fitted complete with a see-through bowl and a 10 micron element. The turbine has a maximum flow rate of 227 litres per hour through a port size of 3/4" - 16 UNF.
Replacement Racor turbine elements (2010 series) are available to order with various micron ratings. Racor 2010 turbine elements measure 78mm in diameter and 70mm high.
