R & D Part Number: 42AN37
This R & D marine damper drive plate is fitted between the engine and the gearbox input shaft, a damper drive plate is designed to transmit the engine power to the gearbox, whilst reducing transmitted gear noise and providing a cushioned drive when selecting gear. All R and D damper drive plates include a 'failsafe' design.
Also called the driven plate, damper plate or clutch plate, the 42AN37 damper drive plate is from the R and D high deflection element range.
Common applications for the 42AN37 drive plate include SAE 7.5 flywheels mated to gearboxes with 26 teeth spline, Borgwarner Velvet drive 70, 71, 72, 73 C, PRM inline gearboxes, Paragon P series, Technodrive TM93, TM170, TM26, TM345, TM485, TM545, TM880, TMP1200 & 1500, Twin Disc, Volvo MS, HS1, 270-280 leg, ZF Hurth HSW and IRM220 gearboxes.
R & D damper drive plate technical details:
- Spline: 26 teeth 20/40 DP (35.4mm diameter) for Borgwarner, PRM, ZF, Hurth, Technodrive, TMP gearboxes.
- Diameter of back plate which bolts to the engine flywheel: 266.7mm (10.50")
- Back plate fixing holes: 12 x 8.1 on 222.3, 6 x 8.1 on 244.5, Spaced 3 groups of 2 apart 23°59`07, 12 x 8.1 on 246, 12 x 8.1 on 242
- Maximum thickness of drive plate: 35mm (1.38")
Fitted with the softer type AN high deflection element for 270Nm 200 ft lb torque, providing a maximum deflection up to 30 degrees.
This type of plate is especially suited to workboats with slow speed applications and pleasure boats.
Please Note: this type of damper drive plate can only be fitted to rotate in the standard direction of rotation (anti-clockwise when looking at the flywheel) with the element facing the gearbox. These damper plates are also failsafe.
