Mastervolt Mass GI 3.5 is a modern day galvanic isolation transformer, featuring high frequency electronic switch technology. It is designed to sit between shore power and the on board power to prevent electrical corrosion of metal parts that can occur without this protection. The Mass GI isolation transformer is compact and lightweight, and is housed in a robust aluminium casing. It can be installed easily on a wall or floor, and the unit does not vibrate or hum so will not require rubber mountings. It can also be controlled remotely via MasterBus.
The Mass GI has a soft start function, which suppresses the inrush current from the transformer to prevent the power fuse blowing. They are also highly efficient, and can be used in parallel to increase the AC power capacity.
