These inexpensive gland packing removal tools make short work of removing old gland packing from the bearing or gland, without damaging the shaft or housing. The coiled end is screwed into the old packing, which can then be simply pulled out of the housing - making sure of course that you have first stopped the supply of liquid before hand!
Use 807381 packing tool for gland packing sizes 6mm (1/4") and 8mm (5/16").
Use 807383 packing tool for gland packing sizes 10mm (3/8") and 13mm (1/2").
Use 807383 packing tool for gland packing sizes 16mm (5/8") and 19mm (3/4").
