Description

The Vetus FS3816 Fuel Splash-Stop for 38 and 51mm ID fuel filling hose (16mm breather line) meets all the latest CE and ABYC standards. It is connected directly under the deck fuel filler plate and ensures that overflowing fuel or foam cannot come back out, thereby soiling the deck and possibly polluting the water.

The housing and hose connection of the Vetus Splash-Stop are made of anodised aluminium and all materials comply with the relevant CE and ABYC directives. A matching 38mm diameter stainless steel deck entry is required. The Vetus FS3816 is suitable for both diesel and petrol fuels. The type of fuel hose used should conform with or exceed ISO 7840 Marine Fuel A2 or SAE J1527 A2.

Excess fuel is collected in a parallel hose, which functions as a reservoir. The capacity of the reservoir is determined by the length and diameter of the hose. A 38mm diameter reservoir hose has a capacity of 1.1 litres per metre and a 51mm diameter reservoir hose has a capacity of 2 litres per metre. For a tank of 40L a minimum reservoir capacity of 0.6L is recommended, and for a 400L tank, a minimum capacity of 2L is recommended. The excess fuel is returned from the reservoir hose back into the tank.
