3E36 R & D Marine Damper Drive Plate
Fitted between the engine and the gearbox input shaft, a damper drive plate is designed to transmit the engine power to the gearbox, whilst reducing transmitted gear noise and providing a cushioned drive when selecting gear. All R and D Damper Drive plates include a 'failsafe' design.
Also called the Driven Plate, Damper Plate or Clutch Plate, this Damper Drive Plate is from the R and D range. Common applications for this drive plate include Ford XLD and Mitsubishi based marine engines.
The technical details:
- Spline: 26 teeth 20/40 DP (35.4mm diameter) for Borgwarner Velvet Drive, PRM Inline, TMP, Twin Disc, ZF Hurth HSW/HBW larger boxes, Paragon and Twin Disc gearboxes
- Diameter of back plate which bolts to the engine flywheel: 266.7mm (10.50")
- Back plate fixing holes: 12 x 8.1mm on 222.3mm pcd, 6 x 8.1mm on 244.5mm pcd, spaced 3 groups of 2 apart 23° degrees 59'07, 12 x 8.1mm on 246mm pcd, 12 x 8.1mm on 242mm pcd
- Maximum thickness of drive plate: 35mm (1.38")
Fitted with the robust type E loop element for 245Nm 180 ft lb torque, which can be mounted either round on the flywheel and rotated in either direction. This drive plate element will provide linear stiffness up to 3 degrees of deflection and is failsafe.
