18M56 R & D Marine Damper Drive Plate
Fitted between the engine and the gearbox input shaft, a damper drive plate is designed to transmit the engine power to the gearbox, whilst reducing transmitted gear noise and providing a cushioned drive when selecting gear. All R and D Damper Drive plates include a 'failsafe' design.
Also called the Driven Plate, Damper Plate or Clutch Plate, the 18M56 Damper Drive Plate is from the R and D range and suits different engines including the Ford BSD
R & D 18M56 damper technical details:
- Spline: 17 teeth 16/32 DP (28.84mm diameter) for PRM301, PRM302, PRM401, PRM402, PRM500 & PRM750 Gearboxes
- Diameter of drive plate back plate which bolts to the engine flywheel: 395mm (15.551" / 15.546")
- Back plate fixing holes: 12 x 3/8" holes on 14.5" PCD and 6 x 9.1mm holes on 14.724" PCD
- Drive plate maximum thickness: 35mm (1.38")
Fitted with the robust type M loop element for 540Nm 400 ft lb torque, which can be mounted either round on the flywheel and rotated in either direction. This drive plate element will provide linear stiffness up to 3 degrees of deflection and is failsafe.
