Description

The Fuelclear M68 fuel testing kit is a simple and cost effective way to check for signs of harmful diesel bug on-board any marine vessel. The diesel bug, also known as fuel bug, can cause serious problems if not found and dealt with in an efficient correct manner.

The diesel fuel testing kit is a simple microbial which allows you to accurately monitor levels of bacteria and fungi where there is no clear problem found in other areas of your fuel system. The diesel testing kit is highly recommended for instances where there are no clear blockages in fuel lines, fuel filters or corrosion of fuel tanks which means it can stop these costly issues before they occur.

If diesel bug is left untreated, in the right conditions it can multiply rapidly to cause blockages within fuel filters, fuel lines and corrode your fuel tank which in turn could cause engine failure. Once you start to see the side effects of the diesel bug it is usually too late and some repair work may be required. You should always monitor your fuel condition to catch it early to save on what could be expensive repair costs.

How does the Fuelclear M68 test kit work?

Designed by the people who bring you M68 fuel biocide, the M68 Fuelclear is a simple DIY diesel bug testing kit. To test your fuel simply immerse the dip slide into your fuel for 10 seconds, ensuring adequate coverage on both sides of the slide. Replace the dip slide into the plastic tube and leave in a warm environment for 48 hours and interpret results according to the chart on the back of the box. The pink side illustrates yeasts and moulds; and the straw side shows bacteria.

If a mid - heavy growth of contamination shows on the dip slide (stage 3-5 growth shown on the comparison chart), a fuel biocide will be required in curative measurements for diesel bug. If a lower measurement is found (stage 1-2 growth shown on the comparison chart), it is suggested to use a preventative measure.

The Fuelclear M68 fuel test kit tests for all common bacteria and fungi found in hydrocarbon fuels. The fuel test kit is suitable for all diesel and petrol variants, including low sulphur diesels, biodiesel and fuel emulsions.

It is advised that you do not touch the dip slides or open the plastic dip slide tubes that are inside the test kit until you are ready to perform the diesel bug test to ensure the test provides accurate results.
