Description

3L2 R & D Marine Gearbox Damper Drive Plate

Fitted between the engine and the gearbox input shaft, a damper drive plate is designed to transmit the engine power to the gearbox, whilst reducing transmitted gear noise and providing a cushioned drive when selecting gear. All R and D Damper Drive plates include a 'failsafe' design.

Also called the Driven Plate, Damper Plate or Clutch Plate, the 3L2 Damper Drive Plate is from the R and D hammer head element range. The 3L2 Drive Plate will suit many marine engines, such as Ford, Perkins, Leyland etc.

Spline: 26 teeth 20/40 DP (35.4mm diameter) for Borgwarner 70, 71 & 72 Velvet Drive gearboxes, Hurth HSW and HBW250, ZF IRM220A, Paragon P series, Technodrive TM 93, 170, 260, 345, 485, 545 & 880 gearboxes, Twin Disc 501 & 502, TMP 1200 & 1500 gearboxes, PRM inline gearboxes and some later Volvo saildrives.
Diameter of back plate which bolts to the engine flywheel: 362mm (14.25")

Fitted with the multi-directional 'L' Hammer Head element for 420Nm 310 ftlb torque, providing a smaller element diameter which is more torsionally flexible than the loop type elements and provides three stage stiffness with up to 9 degrees of deflection. The 3L2 damper drive plate is also fail safe.
