Description

16L2 R & D Marine Damper Drive Plate

Fitted between the engine and the gearbox input shaft, a damper drive plate is designed to transmit the engine power to the gearbox, whilst reducing transmitted gear noise and providing a cushioned drive when selecting gear. All R and D Damper Drive plates include a 'failsafe' design.

Also called the Driven Plate, Damper Plate or Clutch Plate, the 16L2 Damper Drive Plate is from the R and D hammer head element range. Common applications for the 16L2 drive plate include 4 and 6 cylinder Ford engines mated to PRM175, PRM250, PRM265 and PRM310 gearboxes.

Diameter of back plate which bolts to the engine flywheel: 362mm 14.25"
Back plate fixing holes: Multi-punched 6 x 8.1,, on 200mm, 6 x 8.1mm on 210mm, 6 x 8.1mm on 263mm, 6 x 8.1mm on 269.9mm, 6 x 8.1mm on 276.3mm, 8 x 8.1mm on 289mm, 6 x 8.1mm on 295.3mm, 6 x 8.8mm on 304.8mm, 6 x 8.1mm on 314.4mm, 6 x 9.5mm on 320.7mm, 12 x 9.5mm on 343mm
Drive plate maximum thickness: 35mm (1.38")
Fitted with the multi-directional 'L' Hammer Head element for 420Nm 310 ftlb torque, providing a smaller element diameter which is more torsionally flexible than the loop type elements and provides three stage stiffness with up to 9 degrees of deflection. The 16L2 damper drive plate is also failsafe.
